Sports Illustrated World Series (October 30, 2013)
Oregon is second in this week’s Bowl Championship Series rankings and are building a lot of buzz away from the West Coast. So much so, that the Ducks landed on the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated.
Marcus Mariota, who many consider to be the favorites in the Heisman Trophy race, graces the cover with the headline, “The Colossus: Oregon redefined West Coast Football.” The story, written by Austin Murphy, looks at how the Pac-12 is changing and how next week’s Oregon-Stanford game will showcase that change. He also takes a close look at Oregon and its facilities have evolved over the years and have become what they are today.

Actually, this is one of two covers for SI this week, the other being coverage of the World Series. That cover will be on issues in stores around the St. Louis and Boston areas.
