Last weekend's Orlando auditions for the Disney's "Newsies" garnered quite a bit of interest. The show, which will be part of the touring Broadway season at the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, was seeking male dancers. A spokeswoman for the Dr. Phillips Center said about 53 dancers auditioned, which was considered a good turnout in light of the show's specific requirements. Even better news for a few of the hopefuls: Six dancers will receive a callback.
