Jordan posted on his Twitter account Friday, "About take off to to my new school the University of Central Florda in orlando... I'll holla at y'all on the Side."
Jeffrey Jordan, a 6-foot-1 point guard who left the Illinois program in May, has to sit out the 2010-11 season under NCAA transfer rules. He will be eligible to play the 2011-12 season as a senior.
Marcus Jordan, Jeffrey Jordan's younger brother, thrived as a freshman during the 2009-10 season. He appeared in 32 games, making 18 starts. He averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team.
Marcus Jordan wrote about his brother's arrival on his Twitter account. He wrote, "My brother … is officially here... Haha let's dooooo ittt!!!!"
Jeffrey Jordan walked on to the Illinois and appeared in 26 games during the 2007-08 season. He averaged 1.0 points and 0.5 rebounds, making a name for himself as a defensive stopper and rising point guard.
He played in 33 of 34 games his sophomore season, averaging 8.4 minutes, 1.0 points, 1.0 assists and 0.4 rebound per game. He was placed on scholarship for the spring 2009 semester.
Jeffrey Jordan left the Illinois team in June 2009 and did a summer internship with the Jordan Brand before rejoining the team before the 2009-10 season. He played in 33 games, starting twice, last season. He averaged 1.6 points, 1.7 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.
The Jordan brothers last played together at Loyola Academy, a private high school in Chicago. After Jeffrey Jordan graduated, Marcus Jordan transferred to Whitney Young High School for his junior and senior seasons. He played one year alongside current UCF point guard and best friend A.J. Rompza.
First-year UCF coach Donnie Jones continues to build on the Chicago pipeline established by former coach Kirk Speraw. UCF will have four Chicago athletes on the roster next season – the Jordan brothers, Rompza and forward Dwight McCombs.
