Gators point guard Scottie Wilbekin has been suspended for violating unspecified teams rules for the second time in eight months, the school announced Monday.
Wilbekin, a senior from Gainesville, served a three-game suspension to open the 2012-2013 season. He returned to average 9.1 points and a team-high five assists in 31.9 minutes per contest. He also was the team's best on-the-ball defender and was named to the All-SEC defensive team.
Wilbekin entered the offseason as one of two returning starters, along with center Patric Young, from a 29-7 team that lost to Michigan in the Elite Eight.
Incoming freshman Kasey Hill, a five-star recruit from Montverde Academy, is expected to see action at point guard next season.
