Tampa Jefferson athlete Deiondre Porter, who decommitted from a long pledge to USF last week, announced via Bright House Networks on Monday night that he is headed to Gainesville and the Florida Gators.

Porter posted to his Twitter account @DtracksatP shortly afterward, "I have Officially Committed To The University of Florida !GO GATORS #GatorNation"

The Gators are hoping he's just what the new offense will need. The electrifying Porter did it all this season for Jefferson in racking up some incredible offensive numbers. He played quarterback and threw for more than 3,199 yards and 30 touchdowns on 57 percent passing (150-of-263), and he also ran the ball well, rushing for almost 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns on 194 carries.

Porter (6-foot-1, 166 pounds) is the No. 57-ranked athlete in the country via the 247Sports composite rankings. He picked the Gators after taking an official recruiting visit to the UF campus this past weekend.

Porter is the 21st committment to the Gators 2014 recruiting class.
