TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State’s men’s basketball team learned Tuesday afternoon that its 2013-14 ACC schedule will be headlined by home games against North Carolina and new conference members Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Those games and the opponents and locations for 15 other contests were announced by FSU and the ACC. No dates for any of the games were released. They aren’t expected to be provided until later this summer when the entire schedule will be released.

In addition to facing the Tar Heels, Orange and Irish at the Donald L. Tucker Center, the Seminoles will welcome Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia and Virginia Tech to Tallahassee. Maryland also will make the trip as it concludes its farewell tour. The Terrapins are moving to the Big Ten Conference the
following year. They will be replaced in the ACC by Louisville.

FSU will travel next season to Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Miami, Maryland, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Wake Forest. As crossover partners, Clemson and Miami will face the Seminoles twice next year. Maryland will, as well.

The Seminoles finished this past season with an 18-16 overall record and a 9-9 mark in conference play. After winning an opening-round game over Clemson in the ACC Tournament, they went on to lose to eventual conference runner-up, UNC.

FSU figures to have a better season next year, after losing just one scholarship senior. Michael Snaer, the Seminoles’ veteran clutch, late-game hero, has finished his eligibility. The possible addition of prized recruit Andrew Wiggins also could put the Seminoles back in the ACC championship discussion, two years after they claimed their first ACC title in school history.
