Here's news likely to please fans of "The Voice": Blake Shelton will open the Academy of Country Music Awards with a slew of friends on the premiere performance of his "Boys 'Round Here." Those friends are Luke Bryan, Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley and Pistol Annies, which is made up of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. Lambert, who is married to Shelton, is also slated to sing on her own.

Shelton and Bryan will host the awards, which start at 8 p.m. Sunday on CBS. The setting is the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The producers are going all out to turn the awards show into an extravaganza to compete with the Sunday competition, which includes the season premiere of AMC's "Mad Men" and a new episode of HBO's lavish "Game of Thrones."

Other announced performers at the ACM Awards include Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jewel, Kelly Clarkson, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Wonder, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town and the Band Perry.
