The week will be packed with season finales, including a few series farewells. Thursday will be the busiest night as "American Idol" names a winner, "The Office" closes, and "The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy" complete their seasons.
On "The Big Bang Theory," at 8 p.m. Thursday, Leonard contemplates taking a job overseas. This development upsets Penny and makes Sheldon jealous. The CBS sitcom's sixth season finale is called "The Bon Voyage Reaction."
NBC salutes "The Office" with a one-hour retrospective at 8 p.m. Thursday. The series finale follows at 9 p.m. and runs 75 minutes. The grand conclusion has been done in the style of a "Survivor" reunion show. But will Steve Carell be there?
"American Idol" names its winner in a show that starts at 8 p.m. Thursday and will run at least seven minutes beyond 10 p.m. First, Candice Glover and Kree Harrison have to compete in the one-hour results show at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday's finale will be the farewell for judge Randy Jackson, who has been with "Idol" since the beginning. It may be the end for the other judges, too. It could be your last chance to see Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj get into it on national television. Oh, joy.
The ABC dramas conclude their seasons Thursday. On "Grey's Anatomy," at 9, a storm rages, people swarm the hospital, and a doctor fights to survive. On "Scandal," at 10, "the latest White House scandal pushes Cyrus to his limits," ABC says. That can't be good.
Also this week:
"How I Met Your Mother," at 8 Monday on CBS, will offer a cliffhanger season finale about preparations for Robin and Barney's wedding. The title characters of "2 Broke Girls" make what could be a life-changing discovery at 9 Monday on CBS.
Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team gain legal counsel in the "NCIS" season finale at 8 p.m. Tuesday on CBS. The drama concludes its 10th season as the most-watched series this season. The "NCIS: Los Angeles" season finale follows at 9.
"Shark Tank" wraps up its season with two hours at 8 p.m. Friday on ABC.
It's not all finales. "So You Think You Can Dance" starts its new season at 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 p.m. Wednesday on Fox.
And ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" concludes its season next week. This week, the five remaining celebrities perform two dances apiece at 8 p.m. Monday. On the results show, at 9 p.m. Tuesday, the Wanted and Avril Lavigne will perform. But the winner won't be named until May 21.
And look out for those score-settling ghosts.
