Forte - Opera Trio's Encore Performance of "The Prayer" - America's Got Talent 2013 Finals
The three-tenors act Forte, featuring Orlando singer Fernando Varela, looks poised to win "America's Got Talent."
The victor will be named in a two-hour finale that begins at 9 p.m. Wednesday on NBC (WESH-Channel 2 locally).
Do you think Forte will win?
The trio concluded Tuesday's show, in which the six final acts performed, with a rousing performance of "Caruso." The studio audience at Radio City Music Hall cheered loudly, and all four judges gave a standing ovation.
Earlier, Forte had performed "The Prayer," and Stern said he thought the trio was always the front-runner, but he wasn't so sure anymore. Yet the reaction to the second song suggested that Stern, the other judges and the show's producers found Forte the most impressive.
Varela, Josh Page and Sean Panikkar became an act through "America's Got Talent." In a taped segment, Varela talked about previous rejections and the chance to win $1 million, the show's grand prize.
Of the other acts, dancer Kenichi Ebina is the most offbeat and original. The remaining finalists are magician Collins Key (who has a charming, low-key style), singer Cami Bradley, singer Jimmy Rose and comedian Taylor Williamson. In many ways, though, Forte seems the most polished.
