High Surf Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 11:47 am EDT on October 13, 2008

... High surf advisory in effect until 10 am EDT Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a high surf
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EDT Tuesday.

The combination of sea heights between 8 and 10 feet... the
approaching astronomical high tides and reports of rough surf and
several rip current rescues at area beaches over the weekend have
prompted the issuance of a high surf advisory. Minor beach erosion
will also be possible around the times of high tides which will be
between 7 and 8 PM tonight and again around 8 am Tuesday morning.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
