Help others learn basic money management. Money Mentors serve as a positive role model and friend, through an educational program that utilizes volunteer mentors to strengthen the money management knowledge and skills of people who are residents of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. During these tough economic times, many people are finding it difficult to make ends meet, but hesitate to discuss their personal finances in a group or classroom setting. Mentors are trained to protect confidentiality and provide tools to manage budgeting, credit use and consumer skills, while building mutual respect and setting realistic goals.
