UConn's Benton Museum has three new exhibits opening this month. Check out Handstitched Agendas: Art and Politics of the Kuna Indian Molas before mid-October for a glimpse of life among the idigenous people of Panama, who wove political meanings into colorful shirts and decorative panels (pictured). Other exhibits include the 47th Annual Art Department Faculty Exhibition, featuring works by faculty artists Kathryn Myers and Judith Thorpe, and From Old Masters to Revolutionaries: Five Centuries of the Benton's Best, which culls favorites from the museum's deep collection. All three exhibits close on Oct. 13.
