Pop-Eye

If you're into Pop art by masters like Andy Warhol or Roy Lichtenstein, you may also be into the work of painter Robert C. Jackson. Some of his newest paintings blend Americana kitsch with self-aware Post-Pop art parody, and they'll be on display at Southport Galleries beginning with a reception this Thursday night. It's called Pop-Eye (it's OK to roll your eyes at that one) and its got endorsements from the likes of senior professor of art history at Case Western University Dr. Henry Adams who says Jackson recalls "the sensibilities of the best American novelists, such as Mark Twain."
