Husband and wife co-owners Matt and Sue Roth will open Mitzi’s Table, named after Matt’s late mother, in the former TCBY spot.
The Roths are the original owners of Susan’s Gourmet Shop and Catering, which they operated for 15 years (before selling it in 2004) on Route 191 in Lower Nazareth Township.
“My husband, Matt, and I have been asked time and again to open another food business, so we decided to take the plunge,” said Sue Roth, who has been teaching culinary arts at Northampton Community College since 2003. “Our concept is comfort food with a twist — featuring regional and ethnic specialties.”
The Roths plan to support local businesses such as Season’s Olive Oil and Vinegar Taproom, Scholl Orchards and Primordia Mushroom Farm.
Mitzi’s Table’s menu will showcase classic dishes such as mac and cheese and Kentucky hot brown, as well as new foods such as jambalaya spring rolls and duck confit flatbread. There will also be gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options, as well as fresh-baked goods such as cinnamon buns and scones.
The 50-seat Mitzi’s will be open for breakfast and lunch 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and for brunch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Info: 610-730-1670.
