  1. 'Top Chef: Texas' recap: Episode 10

Wow, tonight’s episode of “Top Chef” marks a turning point in the season. With seven cheftestants left, Tom ships them back to San Antonio directly after Restaurant Wars. Sleep-deprived, mentally and physically exhausted, and on the edge of ripping each other’s heads off, the chefs go home and the real challenges begin.

  3. Real Chablis is the perfect table companion

Real Chablis from Chablis, France, is an electric, kinetic glass of wine. One sip skates across your palate like Hans Brinker on ice. The second sip has your electrons vibrating at a higher level. It bursts with a minerality that echoes the sea. Small...

  5. Mixing it up in Montreal

On an afternoon in early October, I sat in a pew in an old church and took in Mass. A woman dressed all in white sang a soothing hymn, and then a priest in an intricate, green robe read from a prepared sermon; behind him, an imposing pipe organ dominated the sparsely-crowded room.

  7. Restaurant review: Don't overlook the food at Bond Street Social

Bond Street Social is off to a good, swaggering start. The Fells Point newcomer wants to be destination not only for evening dining but for late-night carousing, too. If early indications are reliable, it will manage to have it all.

  11. Marie Louise Bistro filled with pleasant surprises

The crouton in <a href=&quot;http://findlocal.baltimoresun.com/mount-vernon/restaurants/italian/marie-louise-bistro-baltimore-restaurant">Marie Louise Bistro's</a> duck salad became key evidence in a mystery that, if anything, made remarkable lunch fare that much more intriguing.

  21. Vandals hit Iron Bridge Wine Company

    Dining@Large
Baltimoresun.com just posted a story about the Iron Bridge Wine Company in Howard County being vandalized, presumably because it serves foie gras. I have a bad feeling that this kind of violence could escalate into something really ugly, although this.......

  23. Fruit of the vine and good food, too

I was a fan of Marc Dixon's cooking when he was at the Iron Bridge Wine Company six years ago, and I was delighted when he resurfaced last fall at the new Bistro Blanc in Glenelg after a stint at Cafe de Paris. But somehow, other restaurants closer to home kept me busy until it struck me recently that time was slipping away, and I was probably missing a very good meal.
