Monument lighting to feature dozens of food, drink vendors

From Blue Moon Cafe's cinnamon rolls to turducken gumbo from Ware House 518, Thursday's Washington Monument lighting will have a spread of local delicacies for attendees to sample.

About 20 restaurants and food trucks — most of them local — will sell some of their signature dishes at the Holiday Village at Thursday's event. And for the first time, attendees will be able to purchase beer and hard cider on site, choosing from Heineken, Heineken Light, Newcastle Ale or Strongbow Cider.
