It has been 40 years since Secretariat's stunning 31-length victory in the 1973 Belmont Stakes capped a dramatic Triple Crown sweep.

This year's Belmont Stakes at 1½ miles is set for Saturday in New York, so taking a look back at video of Secretariat's accomplishment remains compelling.

"He is moving like a tremendous machine," announcer Chic Anderson says. "Secretariat by 12. Secretariat by 14 lengths on the turn."

Secretariat, under jockey Ron Turcotte, finished the race in a record 2 minutes 24 seconds to cap a dramatic Triple Crown sweep.
