A 6-foot-10 figure approached the media check-in table before Thursday's portion of the X Games.

"Last name," the employee asked the hulking man.

Those surrounding the table laughed at the question, because it was obvious to them who the man was — former MLB pitcher Randy Johnson.

Johnson, who won 303 games during a 22-year career with six teams, is in his second year as an ESPN photographer at the X Games. The future Hall of Famer majored in photojournalism during his college career at USC and worked for the student newspaper, The Daily Trojan.

Johnson showcases his photography online and has covered events such as motor sports, concerts and football in the past.
