Kobe Bryant made his debut on Thursday night, releasing his video first clip on Vine.
Bryant, it would seem, jumps into a pool from a high-dive platform (with his sneakers on).
It's unclear if Bryant is responding to a YouTube clip from 2011 of LeBron James hesitating for almost three minutes before jumping from a much lower platform. While that may be a reach, Bryant has been known to have a long memory coupled with an obsessive, competitive drive.
Bryant has increased his social networking presence over recent years. The Lakers guard announced Tuesday that he was going to explore Vine.
I think I may open up a vine #vinovine— Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) August 27, 2013

In his premiere clip, Bryant certainly doesn't seem to be concerned about his Achilles' tendon (torn in April) while leaping 40 feet -- assuming that is indeed Bryant.
