ON THE MOUND: Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke gave up three runs and eight hits and had 11 strikeouts in 72/3 innings to improve to 8-1. Greinke gave up a run-scoring single to Roger Bernadina in the fifth and a two-out home run to Devin Mesoraco in the eighth. It was the first time Greinke gave up more than two runs in a regular-season start since July.
AT THE PLATE: Dodgers center fielder Andre Ethier hit a solo home run in the second inning and three-run triple in the fourth. The home run was Ethier's third of the season and his first since April 19. It was his first triple since Aug. 7, 2013. The Dodgers chased Reds starter Alfredo Simon (6-3) during their four-run fourth inning.
RAMIREZ RETURNS: Shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who had been sidelined because of a calf strain, returned to the lineup and batted fourth. Ramirez grounded out twice and hit a fly ball in his first three at-bats before driving in a run with a single in the seventh inning.
CRAWFORD INJURED: Left fielder Carl Crawford suffered a left ankle sprain chasing a ball hit into the corner in the eighth inning. He was replaced by Scott Van Slyke.
ON THE MEND: Pitcher Chad Billingsley, who is coming off elbow surgery and has been on the disabled list since April 30, will throw a 30-pitch simulated game on Thursday, Manager Don Mattingly said.
SCHEDULED RETURN: Announcer Vin Scully did not broadcast Tuesday's game because of a chest cold. He is expected to return for Wednesday night's game at Dodger Stadium.
