Junior Dion Rizzo pitched five innings, striking out five and walking one, to pick up the victory for the visiting Apaches (1-1). He also had a hit and a run batted in. Shortstop Billy Pinterson added two hits and one RBI and left fielder Michael Rider had two hits.

Brent Fekety went two for three with a single and a triple and Camron Collard had a two-run single for host Burbank Burroughs (2-0). Bell Gardens is 0-2.

Carson 5, Glenn 4
Miguel Tamayo went one for two with a double and a squeeze bunt that drove in two runs to lead Carson (2-0), which scored the winning run on a walk in the bottom of seventh.

Crespi 9, Wilmington Banning 3
Mike Gilmartin of Crespi (2-0) pitched six innings, giving up one run, three hits and striking out seven and teammate Ollie Linton had four hits, including a double and a homer, and two RBIs. Banning is 1-1.

Host El Segundo is 1-1. Oak Park is 1-1.

Gahr 8, Gardena Serra 3
George Sanchez went two for four with a double and two RBIs for visiting Gahr (2-0). Gardena Serra is 0-2.

Loyola 11, Venice 1
Sam Wiley drove in four runs and Cooper Bergdahl drove in two to lead Loyola (2-0). Each had a single and double. Kevin Glass pitched six innings to earn the victory.
