PEAR CRISP with GINGER WHIPPED CREAM

4-5 pears cored and sliced (about 1/4 inch slice)
juice of 1/2 of one orange
zest of 1/2 of one orange
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. allspice

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
6 tbls. butter ( cut into pieces)
1 tsp. cinnamon

preheat oven to 350
lightly grease a 9x9 baking pan

toss pears, orange juice, orange zest. sugar, cinnamon, ginger and allspice in medium bowl. Pour into prepared baking pan.

In small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and oats. Cut in butter and mix until resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over pears. Top with tsp. cinnamon bake for 40-45 minutes until top is golden brown and pears are bubbling. Take out and let cool. Can serve warm or at room temperature. Scoop into serving bowls and top with Ginger whipped cream. ENJOY!

GINGER WHIPPED CREAM

1 cup whipped cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbls. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
crystallized ginger for garnish ( optional)

beat all ingredients (except crystallized ginger) until stiff peaks form.
