(Wichita, Kan.) – Established in 1981 as the first CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program in Kansas and the 15th in the nation, CASA of Sedgwick County is celebrating 30 years of child advocacy in Kansas.
To commemorate the milestone, CASA will host a 30th Anniversary CASAino Royale Celebration from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Friday, June 24, at the Marriott Hotel, 9100 Corporate Hills Dr. The event will feature a plated dinner, silent and live auctions, casino games, and a DJ and dance.
The live auction will feature an all-inclusive trip to Las Vegas, a trip to Napa Valley, dinner by Tanya Tandoc and many more packages. Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer will be the MC for the evening.
Tickets for the event are $100 per person with $70 of the ticket price tax-deductible.
“We are tremendously proud to know CASA has made a difference in the lives of so many children and families in this community for the past 30 years,” said Louise Holden, chair of the CASA Board of Directors. “This event is one way to celebrate those who have served, as well as ensure the voices who advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system continue to be heard for many more years to come.”
Last year’s CASAino event raised $40,000, and this year’s goal is set at $65,000. The money raised will advance the organization’s mission as they work to provide court-appointed special advocates to deserving children in need.
