A Truckee man is the second fatality in a Tuesday avalanche near Haines, Alaska, according to several media reports.
Nickolay Dodov, 26, was taken off life support in Seattle Wednesday.
The avalanche hit a group of six heli-skiers. The group’s guide, 35-year-old Rob Liberman, died Tuesday. Dodov and Liberman were the only two caught in the avalanche.
A report from KHNS radio in Alaska says the two men were wearing avalanche beacons, and were recovered by other skiers and snowboarders.
