Deputy John Caliguire was arrested last weekend in a Rocklin neighborhood by a member of the Rocklin Police Department after officers responded to a possible DUI call. Caliguire's blood alcohol level registered as .33 and .31 in separate breathalyzer tests administered on-scene by responding authorities.
"The Placer County Sheriff's Department takes drunk driving very seriously," a spokesperson with the department wrote in an e-mail to FOX40 News. "A violation of this law would be unacceptable behavior for a member of our department."
While Caliguire remains on active duty with the Placer County Sheriff's Department, he is currently not on patrol pending an internal investigation with the agency.
