WHITTIER, Calif. (KTLA) -- A family in South Whittier is asking for help to find their stolen dog.
They believe thieves broke into the backyard of their home on Friday and stole one of their dogs and severely beat another.
Albert Camancho says his son Quintin came home to find the family's pure-bred pit bull Domo missing and their other dog Coco in extreme pain.
Coco, who is not a pure-bred, suffered broken ribs and a fractured hip bone.
The family thinks the thieves injured Coco to keep the dog back while they went after Domo.
Camancho says that Domo is worth about $1,000, and they are praying for his safe return.
The dog is described as mostly grey with grey eyes and a white patch on its chest.
The family also says Domo has a gentle disposition.
They're asking anyone with information on the incident to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
