WESTMINSTER -- A man who crashed his car while fleeing authorities in Nevada has been tied to a deadly shooting in Westminster.
Pasqual Raul Loera was arrested Sunday outside Primm, Nevada after fleeing a casino and engaging in a short pursuit that ended in a crash.
Police say the 32-year-old had a gunshot wound to his leg and was driving a car registered to a home in the 5300 block of Duncannon Avenue in Westminster.
Las Vegas officers called the Westminster Police Department and asked them to perform a welfare check on the home.
When officers arrived at the home at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday, they discovered a woman who had been shot dead and a man who had been gravely wounded, police said.
The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Julie Palasco and 49-year-old Dennis Koire.
Koire was rushed to the hospital in grave condition.
Investigators say the couple's home had also been ransacked.
It was not immediately known if the shootings were robbery related or if there was another possible motive.
A neighbor said the car the suspect was driving was a black Infinity the victims had been trying to sell.
Another neighbor, Arden Seeger, said the couple were had been planning to retire and were selling a few vehicles to make some extra money.
Westminster police Officer Van Woodson says Loera will be brought to Orange County to face a homicide charge.
