VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KTLA) -- Sheriff's deputies arrested an 82-year-old man early Monday morning after he allegedly tried to kill another elderly family member.
Dispatchers sent deputies to respond to a report of an elderly man walking on the street about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Nisquali Road and Third Avenue. The person who made the report stopped to see if the man needed help, but he said he was on his way to Walmart after having a fight with another elderly family member, according to a news release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The deputies found the man, George Walker, 82, of Victorville, while other deputies checked on the elderly family member at a home on Winona Street. An investigation revealed that Walker and the family member were arguing when Walker allegedly kicked the family member in the ribs. Walker then choked the family member with an electrical cord, according to the news release.
Deputies arrested Walker on suspicion of attempted murder and booked him at Victor Valley Jail. His bail was set at $ 1 million.
