LOS ANGELES -- An 11-year-old burn victim from Uganda is in Los Angeles to undergo surgery that will hopefully allow him walk again.
When Adolf Baguma was 6, his aunt burned his legs with a hot banana leaf to punish him for trying to take food.
Baguma was discovered in an orphanage by local attorney Laine Wagenseller on a trip to Africa.
Wagenseller notified the Children's Burn Foundation which agreed to bring Baguma to the U.S.
He will be staying with Wagonseller family members until he finishes his reconstructive surgeries.
