RIVERSIDE -- A pedestrian, identified as Blake Locko, 17, of Riverside, was struck and killed on the Pomona (60) Freeway early Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol say Locko was witnessed tagging the freeway with another individual, and was reportedly standing in carpool lane of the westbound 60 when he was struck by a car at around 2:15 a.m.

The impact of the car reportedly threw Locko over the 5-foot-high center divider into traffic on the eastbound side of the 60 freeway where he was hit by several vehicles.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:30 a.m.

The incident occurred on the east of Hall Avenue and west of the Santa
Ana River bridge.
