Phil Spector Gets Out of Jail to Visit Dentist
Phil Spector (California Dept. of Corrections / June 10, 2009)
His appointment was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Toluca Lake.
Spector's visit was allowed under a state rule that permits qualifying inmates with the financial means to seek private medical treatment as long as they pick up the bill for the transportation and security.
Inmates can seek to visit private physicians or dentists if they can afford to not only pay for the treatment but cover the state's transportation and security costs, confirmed Terry Thornton, a state Department of Corrections spokeswoman.
The legendary music producer is serving 19 years to life at Corcoran State Prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
