SANTA CLARITA (KTLA) -- Deputies believe they have nabbed a man who may be responsible for over 50 smash-and-grab vehicle burglaries in the Santa Clarita Valley, authorities said Friday.
Employees at the L.A. Fitness on the 26400 block of Golden Valley Road in Saugus called authorities Wednesday after seeing a suspicious vehicle circling the parking lot.
Deputies believe Marquez, 32, may be the same suspect involved in more than 50 recent incidents in the Valencia and Saugus area in which the suspect smashes through car windows and grabs purses, wallets or other valuable items.
Marquez, 32, was booked on felony burglary charges and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
