Gayle Anderson was live in Sylmar with a preview of the Saturday, October 13th  Wildlife Learning Center’s "Safari Social! Animal Care Fundraiser" from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event features five interactive animal stations, where guests can meet Lola, the two toed Sloth; hold a tawny owl on a glove; touch a Fennec Fox; feed and touch a huge tortoise; and feed a curious porcupine. In addition, guests can meet and take pictures with rescued wildlife, watch a trainer in action and see hawk flying demonstrations, see the reptiles and enjoy delicious treats, soft drinks, beer and wine.

Also, there will be celebrity guests, including Tom Kenny, the "voice" of Sponge Bob, the Ice King, and the Mayor of Townsville; Tara Strong, the "voice" of Bubbles, Twilight Sparkle, and Timmy Turner; as well as Lisa May from KROQ and Lauren Faust, animation, writer, producer of "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic," "Powerpuff Girls," and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." The WLC will also host a silent auction with great prizes!

All-inclusive pricing is $45 for adults, $25 for children under 16, $165 for four adults, and $135 for 2 adults and 2 children. Call the Wildlife Learning Center to reserve your tickets today! The first 100 advance ticket purchases receive a FREE WLC tote bag!

Home to more than 70 different species of rescued and zoo-born wild animals, WLC also provides outreach and onsite education in wildlife biology. Its outreach program is the largest in Los Angeles with classes taught by biologists. Ongoing fundraising supports the care of dozens of rescued and rehabilitated animals, covers veterinary care and daily animal care, funds enclosure construction and maintenance, provides school outreach programs, and pays for general operating costs.

The Wildlife Learning Center is supported by the Wildlife Learning Foundation, a nonprofit organization that seeks and provides the financial support for the Center's animals and education programs. WLC's long-term goal is to expand the Center by purchasing the land it resides on, develop animal habitats, create a student classroom, and rescue more animals in need. Funds will also be needed for microscopes, desks, chairs, and biofacts. WLC seeks the support of other animal lovers to meet these goals.
