The Oregon Band program began more than a century ago. Early connections to ROTC ended in 1933 when the band invited women to join for the first time. A long list of band directors has led to a wide and varied tradition. The band today reflects a blend of traditional college marching band spirit and contemporary marching band design. The Oregon Marching Band is supported through a three-way partnership by the School of Music, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Associated Students of the University of Oregon.
