BALDWIN HILLS (KTLA) -- A parolee and reputed gang member was charged with capital murder Tuesday in the 2011 slaying of an Inglewood nightclub owner.

Alonzo Ester, 67, also known as Dicky McKnight, was found shot to death inside a Rolls-Royce in front of his Baldwin Hills home last May.

Police say he was driving home from his club, Dynasty, around 3 a.m. when he was shot several times from the passenger side of the car.

The car rolled into a neighbor's house in the area of Hillcrest and Don Milagro following the shooting.

On Tuesday, police charged 31-year old Dennis Roy Brown with one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation that the killing occurred during a robbery.

The criminal complaint also includes gang and gun allegations.

Brown, a reputed Rollin 20’s Blood gang member known as “Junebug,” has two previous convictions -- both for robbery.

Esters' money clip had been emptied and was found on the ground.

The father of 12 was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center.
