MALIBU -- Malibu Canyon Road was shut down early this morning after a rockslide sent boulders and dirt tumbling onto the roadway.
The huge boulders and dirt were blocking both directions of South Malibu Canyon Road just north of Pacific Coast Highway about 3:10 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.
Los Angeles County roads workers were summoned to the scene to clean up the rocks and debris.
The road reopened just before 5 a.m.
