HOLLYWOOD (KTLA) - The stars hit the 'black' carpet en masse Friday night, for the big-screen version of the Broadway hit musical "Rock of Ages," led by superstar Tom Cruise.

The red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theater turned black in honor of the heavy-rock theme of the movie, celebrating the 80's music of rock, metal, and 'glam' bands like Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, and many more.

Among the celebrities in attendance: stars of the film Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin, Tom Cruise, and director Adam Shankman.
