Ex-Police Chief Accused of Indecent Exposure Gets Plea Deal
Paul Lawrence Wadley was accused of leaving lewd photos of himself on hiking trails in Anaheim.
Huntington Park Police Chief Paul Lawrence Wadley, Retired
56-year-old Paul Lawrence Wadley agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of prowling and one count of vehicle tampering in exchange for a deal that will keep him from having to register as a sex offender.
Wadley was sentenced to three years probation and 150 hours of community service, according to his attorney Al Fadel Amer.
The investigation began last November when a woman who found several lewd photos notified police.
Another woman reported that a man exposed himself as he walked past her on a hiking trail near Toyon Park on Thanksgiving day.
Four days later, a group of women who were exercising in the park found lewd photos on the windshields of their cars.
Detectives say they linked Wadley to the crime through fingerprints.
A search of Wadley's Anaheim home turned up additional evidence linking him to the incidents.
Anyone with additional information in the case is asked to call detective Matt Adrian at (714) 765-1960.
