PERRIS (KTLA) -- A 35-year-old skydiver was killed Saturday after an accident caused him to fall to the ground.
The skydiver, identified as Sean Carey, was performing a solo maneuver in a skydiving competition at the Perris Valley Skydiving facility on the 2000 block of Goetz road around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
That's when something went wrong and he he suddenly plummeted to the ground, according to Riverside County Sheriff's officials.
He was treated at the scene but later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
Five people died in fatal accidents at the Perris skydiving facility in 2011. Carey's death was believed to be the 15th since 2000, the Los Angeles Times reported.
No further information has been released about the crash.
