ARCADIA, Calif. (KTLA) -- A 35-year old man has been booked on a misdemeanor charge of invading privacy by use of a camera after allegedly using a smartphone to take an "upskirt" photo of an eleven-year old girl.

Aaron D. Koniak, of Encino, was arrested on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at about 6:30 p.m. by Arcadia Police Officers and booked at the City Jail.

Police say the young girl was standing with her mother at a kiosk inside the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall when a witness notice a man lean over and hold what appeared to be a camera below the girl's skirt line.

The witness believed that the suspect was taking pictures of the girl and immediately told the mother.

The victim's mother confronted the suspect who then ran off.

The mother yelled and chased after the suspect where another bystander detained him.

Officers arrived on scene and recovered a smartphone from the suspect during the investigation.

Evidence was found on the phone supporting witness accounts of the incident.

Police believe there are additional victims at other area shopping centers.
