CULVER CITY, Calif. (KTLA) -- A student who allegedly brought a gun to Culver City Middle School was arrested on Tuesday.

A father tells KTLA that the student threatened his son with a handgun in a boys' bathroom on Monday.

According to his son's account, the student was waving the gun around, showing it off, pointing it in faces and threatening to "blow some heads off" if anyone talked.

Administrators with the school and school district are not saying anything, instead referring all calls to police.

The father KTLA spoke with said he's extremely concerned about his son's safety.

Police went to the student's home around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and met with the parents, as well as the juvenile.

They eventually recovered a weapon out of the student's backpack, according to Lt. Ron Iizuka, of the Culver City Police Department.

The gun was unloaded, Iizuka said. It was unclear who owned the weapon.

The student was subsequently arrested, according to Iizuka.

Parents that KTLA talked to said they were unaware of the case.

"It scares the heck out of me that a kid without being detected walking in class or whatever with a gun," one father said.

Students also said that they were scared by the incident.

"At the moment I was like really shocked," one boy said.

"I don't want to be shot," another boy added.
