LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Los Angeles police have shot and killed a man who allegedly threatened them with a knife in the Jefferson Park area.
The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Chico and West 28th streets.
LAPD officials say the man approached them in a threatening manner, forcing them to open fire.
The man died at the scene.
A witness said the man refused to drop the knife, and officers fired up to ten shots.
A 16-year-old girl was injured at the scene and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
It was not clear whether she was involved in the shooting, or if she had a connection to the suspect.
The shooting is under investigation.
