MONTECITO -- A DUI charge against Heather Locklear was dismissed Friday after she pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of reckless driving, according to a source close to the case.

Locklear, 47, was not present in court. Her attorney, Blair Berk, had no comment.

Under the terms of her plea deal with prosecutors, Locklear will serve three years' informal probation, pay $700 and complete a 12-hour DMV road safety class.

Locklear was charged with driving under the influence of drugs in November following her September arrest.

The California Highway Patrol said the actress showed "obvious impairment" when an officer noticed her car parked on a highway and blocking a lane in Montecito.

She was tested for drugs at a police station and released.

The 47-year-old actress is best known for television shows such as " Melrose Place" and "Spin City."

She divorced from Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora last year and sought treatment for anxiety and depression in June. She checked into an Arizona medical facility.
