Last week’s “Friday Night Lights in the Morning” segment featured the game between the Grand Terrace High School Titans and the Notre Dame High School (Riverside) Titans. Sportscaster, Avi Bernard, who appears courtesy of Radio Free 102.3 FM, KJLH and KJLHRadio.com, was correct in predicting that Notre Dame (Riverside) would defeat Grand Terrace. The Notre Dame High School (Riverside) Titans defeated the Grand Terrace Titans, 44 to 27.

Speaking of sports, don’t forget the 2012 Paralympic Games are currently being held in London through September 9th. The United States have participated in every Summer and Winter Paralympic Games since the games began, winning a total of 1,968 medals in 13 Paralympic Games (700 gold, 627 silver, 641 bronze). In addition, New York co-hosted the Games in 1984, Atlanta was host in 1996 and the 2002 Winter Paralympics were held in Salt Lake City. So far, U.S. athletes have won 22 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 27 bronze medals at the 2012 Paralympic Games.
KTLA saluted our local Paralympic athletes competing in this year's Games a few weeks ago. Track athlete, Katy Sullivan, competed on Wednesday, September 5th in the women's 100m and placed 6th. Veteran Paralympian, Gerard Moreno, competed in the wheelchair fencing preliminaries on Tuesday, September 4th and has advanced to the next round of competition.
