A priest has reportedly been summoned, according to family sources.
The 62 year old actress has been hospitalized for the past 2 week, and is now in the intensive care unit.
Sources say Fawcett, whose battle with anal cancer was chronicled in the NBC documentary Farrah's Story, is not doing well.
"She is being treated for her condition," according to Farrah's publicist Arnold Robinson.
Ryan O'Neal is by her side during the latest battle in her fight against the deadly disease. And he's fighting back against a man who, claiming to be Fawcett's high school sweetheart, has been writing unsavory things about O'Neal on his Farrah Fawcett website.
A cease and desist letter issued by O'Neal's attorney demanded that Greg Lott shut down his site, stop making defamatory comments about O'Neal and stop using Farrah's image to sell merchandise.
Lott had written that O'Neal has been running around with other women while Fawcett was sick, and also made drug allegations against O'Neal.
He took his site down after receiving the letter, which was dated June 23.
The news about Farrah's hospitalization comes on the heels of O'Neal's statement to Barbara Walters that while Farrah is "fighting for her life, "I've asked her to marry me, again, and she's agreed."
"We will, as soon as she can, say yes," O'Neal, 68, says about his companion since 1980. "Maybe we can just nod her head," he said, with a laugh.
"I used to ask her to marry me all the time," O'Neal said for the interview to air Friday on 20/20. "But ... it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it."
But now with Fawcett, deteriorating from cancer, "I promise you, we will," says O'Neal. "Absolutely."
Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. The disease has now spread to her liver and she has given up almost all treatment, according to her doctors.
The "Charlie's Angels" star and O'Neal have a son together, 24 year old Redmond O'Neal.
