SANTA ANA (KTLA) -- A woman who's been nicknamed the " Botox Bandit" has been sentenced to five years in prison for felony burglary, fraud and identity theft.

Authorities say 46-year-old Melissa Chesney visited Orange County salons and spas 17 times between February and May 2009, and used fake names and fraudulent checks to pay for $3,000 worth of botox and other skin treatments.

Among the businesses targeted were Luxe Med Spa in Yorba Linda in March 2009, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Chesney pleaded guilty to 21 felonies, including nine counts of burglary, five counts of identity theft, four counts of forgery, two counts of grand theft, and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

She also pleaded guilty to robbery at a Kohl's department store in Garden Grove in January 2009 and a software store in Tustin in February 2009.

The Orange County district attorney's office said in a statement that Chesney earned the nickname for "committing fraud in search of a wrinkle-free face."

Chesney has also been ordered to pay restitution to her victims.
