LOS ANGELES -- Actress Mackenzie Phillips is in trouble with the law again.
The 'One Day at a Time" star was arrested today at LAX on drug charges.
Phillips is the daughter of John Phillips, the late leader of the singing group the Mamas and the Papas.
She has spoken publicly about her struggles with drugs.
Her first big break came in 1973 in "American Graffiti."
She went on to star in the television comedy series "One Day at a Time,"
but had well-publicized problems with substance abuse during the show's run and
left the production at least twice.
In a return to TV in the 1990s, she
played a high school drug counselor on the Fox show "Beverly Hills, 90210."
has worked regularly in the
entertainment business since.
Her last public problems with drugs date back well over a decade.
