California's Baby & Kidz Expo Show is coming to the Pasadena Convention Center this Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Produced by The Expos Pros., experts in producing Baby & Kids shows as well as many other events, "CALIFORNIA BABY & KIDZ EXPO" showcases the latest products, services, information and advice for parents and offers a one-stop shopping experience for California families as well as nonstop family entertainment, fun-filled activities for kids, stage presentations and more.

The new California Booster Law went into effect on January 1, 2012 and dictates that children under the age of 8 or under 4 feet 9 inches in height MUST be secured in a car seat or booster seat. Additionally, children under age 8 must be secured in the back seat. Properly buckling your children in before every trip in your car is critical since thousands of children are injured or killed every year by safety seats that are improperly fastened by parents or caretakers. Remember, most collisions occur within a mile of the home - so buckle your child in a safety seat for every trip, no matter how short.

Grainne Kelly, parent and founder of the first ever inflatable booster seat BubbleBum is in town for the event and offering exclusive interviews on the new California booster law.

Every parent wants their child to be safe! Check the Booster Seat Facts:

It has been proven that children in booster seats have approximately half the injury risk of children without the use of a booster seat, and in seat belts alone. While head injuries are the most commonly injured body region for all restrained children, abdominal injuries are the second most common injury for belted children as a result of "seat-belt syndrome" injuries. Children who were restrained by booster seats showed a notable absence of abdominal injuries.

A child should meet ALL of the following requirements in order to use ANY booster seat:

Aged between 4 and 11. Weigh between 40-80lbs.
Height up to 4 feet 9 inches or when child's ears are above the back of the vehicle seat.
It is recommended that you keep your child in the lowest group car seat until the maximum weight allowance for that restraint before moving up to the next group.
When children outgrow their forward facing seat (usually around 40-80lbs) they should ride in booster seats in the back seat until the vehicle seat belt fits properly––lap belt should lie across the bony part of the pelvis and hips, and the shoulder belt across the chest, never the face or throat. According to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) data, belt positioning booster seats are more than twice as effective in reducing risk of injury when compared with seat belt alone.
