2Cellos joined us live for an interview and to perform for us. 2Cellos was signed by Sony after their video went viral on Youtube.
These obscure 24-year old classically trained cellists posted a video covering Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" online and within days the video had over million hits. They are literally an overnight success.
In fact, after seeing their video, Elton John personally called them and asked them to join him on Tour. They just got back from Europe with Elton and will be teaming back up with him in the Fall for his US tour.
Their debut album, which reinvents pop and rock hits from Nirvana, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, U2 and Guns N' Roses was released on July 19 and has received rave reviews. They will be performing in Los Angeles at the Largo at the Coronet on Wednesday, September 14 at 8p.
