Twitter users listen up...The social media platform is getting a new technology.

Twitter is now expanding into new countries to broaden its audience. The San Francisco based company will now 'censor' messages on a country-by-country basis.

For example…In Germany and France, if someone tweets pro-Nazi content it will be banned.

China and Thailand are among the top countries that support the censorship and anything tweeted about the government or politics will be banned.

Group's Principal Analyst, Brian Solis said, "It is doing what it's supposed to do as any service does as it expands into each of one of these countries and that is to abide by the laws of the country."

Many Twitter users across the world are pretty unhappy saying Twitter's commitment to free speech may be weakening.

Wait a second... Look at the countries we’re talking about... The word 'freedom' hardly exists.

The governments run their lives so why all the outrage? Why this censorship is any different from anything else is the government bans its people from doing?

As far as the U.S., nope! Tweets will not be censored.

What’s the difference? Well we actually have something called freedom of speech. This doesn’t mean big brother isn’t watching though.

Two British tourists, Leigh Van Bryan and Emily Bunting were recently kicked out of the U.S.

U.S. special agents monitoring Twitter spotted a tweet from Bryan which said, "Free this week for a quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?"

The Department of Homeland Security flagged him as a potential threat to the U.S. and the couple was detained when they landed in Los Angeles.

Although Bryan explained, the term 'destroy' was British slang for ‘party’, they were still kicked out.

This might have been a little excessive, but wouldn’t you rather feel safe than sorry?
